Theory & Aural Skills is WPMA’s four-level musicianship sequence, I through IV. Students work together in small cohorts to build rhythmic accuracy, ear training, and the fluency to sight-read and learn repertoire efficiently, with homework and exams at every level. See the full sequence.
Taught by faculty Valentina Ignjic, Ian Schwalbe and Logan Souther. Fall and Spring semesters include 15 classes; the Summer semester (June–July) includes 6.
All books and materials are provided by WPMA.
Before you choose a session
A conservatory-style musicianship course, guaranteed to help students in auditions, competitions, and instrument repertoire. Students are placed into one of two age-based sections and may move between them as they progress — pick your section by age, then choose whichever day works (each week’s lesson is taught on all four days, so students attend one session per week). Classes capped at 12 students each. Theory & Aural Skills II to be added in the Spring.
