Our mission is to raise the next generation of gifted young musicians, from their first lesson to the conservatory stage. We work with musicians who hold a high standard, care deeply about their students, and want a full studio of serious young musicians.
Why Teach Here
New faculty begin with committed students placed from the academy’s enrollment.
Admin, billing, and communication are handled by the academy, so your time goes to teaching.
State-of-the-art teaching studios, classrooms, and pianos. In the words of one of our Visiting Artists, “these facilities are nicer than Curtis’!”
Smart, hard-working students with supportive families who practice, perform and compete, and who earn All-State seats, top youth orchestra chairs and conservatory admission.
Our Values
Three values every WPMA teacher upholds.

01
You never stop working on your teaching, and you go above and beyond for your students. Excellence is the standard, both for your own teaching and for your students’. You prepare, you don’t let go of the details, and you’re always looking for a better way to explain, demonstrate and inspire. You raise the bar for all of your students.

02
You understand what it takes to succeed in classical music: a strong technical foundation, performance experience, audition preparation, competitions, summer festivals, and conservatory admissions. You want that success for your students, and you encourage them to take every opportunity that will get them there.

03
We’re building a conservatory culture without the ego or the politics. You are excited to be teaching alongside a faculty of pedagogues who care just as much about teaching as you do. Teachers respect one another, and families, students and teachers respect each other.
Beyond Private Lessons
Very few programs in the country offer all of this under one roof.
Monthly masterclasses with visiting artists give your students direct access to leading performers. Each semester you’ll also lead a studio class of your own, paid by the academy.
Your students rehearse and perform with the best collaborative pianists in Georgia.
A full musicianship program runs alongside private lessons. Students who study it progress faster and are easier to teach.
A growing chamber program with wonderful faculty, and opportunities for you to coach.
A monthly series where students rehearse and perform with a collaborative pianist for free, preparing for everything from their first recital to their conservatory auditions.
