Performing in an ensemble under the guidance of a conductor is a powerful step in a musician’s journey. It sharpens listening, builds discipline, and allows for exciting, real-time collaboration on stage. As students prepare and perform orchestral works, they gain exposure to a wide range of composers, styles, and the artistry of performing as part of a larger whole.
WPMA has partnered with the Atlanta Festival Academy (AFA) to offer two ensembles: The Atlanta Festival Youth Orchestra and Atlanta Festival Virtuosi. These ensembles perform chamber and symphonic works across the Fall and Spring semesters. Each 10-week session culminates in a formal concert series, featuring soloists and showcasing the growth, collaboration, and artistry of each ensemble.
