Performing Often

As students advance in their studies, many choose to perform more frequently across a variety of musical settings.
Across the academy, students present repertoire regularly through opportunities such as:
These experiences allow students to refine their preparation, gain performance experience, and continue developing their artistic voice through weeks—and in some cases—months of focused practice. These extended periods of diligent preparation are crucial for musician growth.
Many academy students who win top seats and prizes in state and nation-wide auditions and competitions perform regularly in the academy’s Spotlight Concert Series.
The WPMA Spotlight Concert Series provides a regular opportunity for students to perform in a supportive and focused concert setting.
Held monthly throughout the academic year, these concerts allow students to present polished repertoire and gain valuable performance experience in front of peers, families, and members of the academy community.
Students performing in Spotlight Concerts also have access to WPMA’s staff collaborative pianists for the performance, including a short rehearsal earlier in the day.
Spotlight Concerts provide an accessible and encouraging platform for students to develop confidence and stage presence while sharing and inspiring others through their musical progress. See upcoming Spotlight Concerts performances on our Academy News page.
Many WPMA faculty organize studio classes throughout the year, bringing together students within their studios to perform and refine repertoire in a collaborative setting. These classes provide valuable opportunities for students to develop stage confidence, observe the work of their peers, and receive guidance from their teacher in a focused performance environment.
