Biography

Dr. Arielle Crumley is a singer, musicologist, and educator based in the North Georgia area. Dr. Crumley graduated from Brenau University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance, and afterward, she received a Master’s degree in vocal performance from Georgia Southern University. Throughout her studies, she had the pleasure of performing in numerous operatic roles, with her favorites including Elizabeth Proctor in Robert Ward’s The Crucible and Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.

Though her background is in vocal performance, Dr. Crumley maintains a passion for scholarly research and writing, and she also holds a PhD in historical musicology from the University of Georgia. Her doctoral research combined her specialty in singing with her love of history and literature in a study of French art song and poetry in fin-de-siècle Paris, and she continues to explore various topics that intersect music and literature.

As an educator, Dr. Crumley has taught classes in music history and appreciation at the University of North Georgia and the University of Georgia, and she currently teaches private voice, vocal pedagogy, and music history at Brenau University. For over a decade, Dr. Crumley has taught private voice lessons, working with students of all levels and in various styles, including classical, musical theatre, and contemporary. She finds much joy in teaching singing, and she strives to cultivate each student’s unique vocal talent while simultaneously fostering confidence and musicality!

A soprano, Dr. Crumley performs regularly throughout the North Georgia area as a recitalist and church singer. When she’s not teaching or singing, she enjoys gardening, spending time with her husband and three cats, and getting lost in science fiction worlds in books and video games.
